Holding Ground, Garway Hill

€410.00

Holding Ground, Garway Hill was inspired by the quiet, layered history of Garway Hill, which lies nestled on the English–Welsh border. At its heart stands St Michael’s Church, a building shaped over centuries; once a stronghold of the Knights Templar, now softened by time, weather, and story.

This is a place that feels half-hidden and half-remembered, a place where the landscape seems to hold onto its past. Legends linger here — of Templar meetings and buried treasure — while the hill itself carries its own folklore, long associated with witchcraft.

The print brings together elements of history and atmosphere: the solidity of stone, the encroaching wild, and the sense of something just out of reach. It’s a piece for those drawn to quieter landscapes — places where history settles into the land and refuses to disappear entirely.

Holding Ground, Garway Hill is a limited edition single-colour lino print in black oil-based ink on white, acid-free paper. The prints were handprinted using one plate and only 9 prints were made (plus one artist proof).
