This painting is one of a pair that were inspired by many visits to the tiny church of St David’s in Rhulen, Wales. It’s a place of quiet walks along old roads lined with hedgerows. It has been suggested that the site was already established before Christianity arrived there – perhaps in the Bronze Age - hence the circular churchyard. Its remoteness and the simplicity of the building make it one of my favourite places to visit when I’m back in this rugged and beautiful part of Wales.

Original artwork in mixed media on pure jute canvas. The raw, natural structure of the pure jute fabric gives the painting an elemental feel.

The painting is varnished and comes framed in a simple, elegant dark wooden frame.
